1720. Side Tour di Cavedine, Madruzzo e Valle dei Laghi

The 1720 Side Tour will take you on a journey of discovery through Val di Cavedine and Valle dei Laghi, passing through the Marocche di Dro and past several lakes and castles.

This route starts in the town of Sarche and takes you in the direction of Lake Cavedine along a cycle path that flanks the River Sarca. Once you have passed the lake, you will also cycle through the Marocche di Dro, which is essentially an accumulation of large boulders that fell off the mountainside long ago and formed a pile on the valley floor. The landscape here is a sight to behold and is the perfect spot to take some great photos. You will continue uphill towards Drena Castle and then descend gently through the vineyards of Val di Cavedine until you reach Castel Madruzzo. You will then reach the towns of Vezzano and Fraveggio, which offer glimpses of Lake Garda, before returning downhill to Lake Santa Massenza, a place that is famous for its grappa distilleries. You will soon find yourself skirting Lake Toblino and its castle, which rises from the blue water, eventually reaching the departure point in the town of Sarche.
