Facile escursione a monte del paese di Rumo dove il panorama si apre sulle montagne del gruppo delle Maddalene e sul vicino paese di Proves in provincia di Bolzano.

Questa escursione non ha tratti particolarmnte ripidi a parte la discesa finale. Inizia nei boschi per poi aprirsi ai grandi prati al confine con l'Alto Adige. Il percorso è molto panoramico e passa nei pressi di due graziose baite.

This hike has no particularly steep sections except for the final descent. It starts in the woods and then opens up to large meadows on the border with South Tyrol. The route is very scenic and passes near two charming mountain huts.

The hike crosses some private meadows; we recommend staying on the path and not stepping on the surrounding meadows.

Roadbook

By car, drive above Lanza and reach Maso Stasal. Continue on foot along the paved road that coincides with trail marker 2A, and at the second hairpin turn take the path on the right, which gently ascends through the forest until it intersects with the trail marked 147 / 12 / 14. This forest road continues flat, crossing the panoramic promontory straddling Trentino and South Tyrol.

Arriving near the southernmost point of the loop, you'll notice a path rising on the left: a small trail that in a few minutes leads to a charming mountain hut: the Bait dal Crislot. The view of the Maddalene group from here is very impressive.

The loop continues flat along the South Tyrolean farmsteads of the Proves hamlets and proceeds level to Passo Fresna. Upon reaching the pass, turn left towards south on a flat forest road that then descends steeply with hairpin turns back to Maso Stasal.

Directions

Rumo is a small village composed of several hamlets in the northwestern part of Val di Non. To reach it, take the road from Revò heading towards Proves and Val d'Ultimo. At Loc. Frari, follow the signs that turn left and lead to Rumo in a few kilometers. After reaching the last houses, turn right to ascend towards Lanza and continue on to Maso Stasal.
