Malga di Coredo on the way out and Malga Rodeza on the return are excellent spots to take a break and taste typical dishes.

As you might imagine, the passability of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting off, check the route status by contacting the refuge managers along your route, alpine guides, natural park visitor centers, and tourist offices.

Roadbook

Departure of the route from Rifugio Predaia “ai Todès-ci” where it is possible to park your car. The first part of the trail runs on a flat dirt road along SAT trail 503 up to the meadows of Bus da Spin. At this point, you take the SAT trail 530 on the left and after a short climb arrive at a junction (Curva de la Lama) where you continue on the same trail up to Malga di Coredo. The trail is all uphill, partly cemented and partly dirt, surrounded by beautiful green meadows and lush woods. At Malga di Coredo you can take a break. From here, follow the SAT 530 dirt road that continues to Malga Vecchia with a pleasant up and down. Then continue on SAT trail 501 up to Bocca di Val Calana where there is a wooden cross and you can already start to glimpse some panorama of the Adige Valley; about 15 minutes from here you find Baita Kuhleger, cozy and always open, very convenient in bad weather. Continuing along the famous Sentiero Italia SAT 500 towards Costa Larga, you pass the chapel of S. Barbara dating back to 1882 and the Predaia Pass at 1639 meters. From Costa Larga you start to descend along SAT trail 526 until reaching Malga Rodeza where you take SAT trail 503 that leads back to Rifugio Predaia “ai Todès-ci”.

From Bocca di Val Calana, a short detour of only 20 minutes leads to the nearby Testa Nera summit along SAT trail 500 in the direction of Monte Roen. The summit of Monte Roen, however, is 1 hour and 10 minutes walking distance from here.
