NEGRITELLA
A few dozen metres from the upper cable car station, in winter it’s an obligatory stop for skiers descending from Ciampedie to Vigo di Fassa along the Thoeni piste. In summer, walkers on their way to Gardeccia or the Rifugio Roda de Vael pass the refuge. The Rifugio Negritella has been welcoming walkers since 1952 and skiers more recently. Following the latest renovations, guests can enjoy one of the finest views of the rock walls of Catinaccio from the new rooms. Open From early June to early October From early December to early April Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks A 40-minute downhill walk on an easy path through the woods will take you to the Conca di Gardeccia. It’s a more challenging undertaking to completing the walk, which encircles Cigolade passing the Rifugio Roda di Vael to then return to Ciampedie (4 hours, difficulty EE). There is also a direct route to the Rifugio Roda di Vael walking in a south-westerly direction, which tales 1 ¾ hours (difficulty E).
