Difficulty: T (tourist trail)
From the Sanctuary of Baselga di Bresimo, continue uphill through the houses and just upon reaching the forest, you will find signs indicating Castello d'Altaguardia to the left. At this point, there is also a parking area with about 8 spaces.
Continue beyond the parking lot on a forest road, partly paved. The road steadily rises, then narrows slightly and reaches the Castelbasso farmhouse. Looking up, you can see the wide walls of the castle. The road narrows slightly and continues uphill to the castle.
Here there are comfortable benches where you can stop and enjoy the view.
Retrace your steps for a few dozen meters to the road that arrives just below the castle. Here, instead of descending along the same route as the ascent, you can continue slightly uphill and take trail 149 but to the left. The path continues flat until some farmhouses, crosses a stream, and then descends to join the dirt road leading to Maso Castelbasso.
From there, return to Baselga di Bresimo as on the way out.
