The Trentino bio-lakes

Natural like mountain lakes, organized like city swimming pools

The bio-lake concept comes from the Northern European countries – these lakes have the clean water of mountain lakes, but offer the services of swimming pools. They are freshwater basins artificially created in green and natural places, where you can dive from the wooden piers, or relax on the fresh lawn. They include areas for children, changing rooms and even showers heated by a solar thermal system.

Their environmental impact is very low, because bio-lakes exploit natural phenomena in full respect of the environment around them. No chemical additives such as chlorine, but only natural elements such as plants and gravel to purify the water.

In Trentino there are 4 of them: let’s discover them together!

#1

Pinzolo bio-lake, Val Rendena

The Pinzolo bio-lake is located in the green of the sports and children's play area called “Pineta” (pine grove). It features a large swimming area with a children’s pool; you will also find sunbeds, umbrellas, changing rooms and showers served by water heated by a solar thermal system.

#2

Predazzo bio-lake, Val di Fiemme

The Predazzo bio-lake is in a green area of the town, and includes a skate park and playground. Surrounded by small beaches, wooden walkways and rocks, it is a pleasant oasis that you encounter while pedaling along the bike trail connecting Canazei and Molina.

#3

Monclassico bio-lake, Val di Sole

The Monclassico bio-lake is the only bathing lake in the valley. Surrounded by greenery in the playground, it is ideal for a summer day. And after a nice and.... sustainable dip, you can visit Monclassico, the town of the Sundials.

#4

Tesino bio-lake, Valsugana

The Tesino bio-lake is the most recent bio-lake in Trentino. Inaugurated in summer 2021, it is fed by a small stream that allows for a continuous change of water. It features an area for young patrons, changing rooms and showers served by water heated by a solar thermal system.
