The tales and tastes of Trentino’s farmers’ markets
Lose yourself in the soul of the territory and the scents from the farmers’ stalls
No holiday is complete without experiencing everyday life in your destination and its most meaningful traditions: farmers’ markets in Trentino are not just about picking up your daily groceries, but offer a chance to select the finest produce from the area and learn more about the people who cultivate and carefully tend to its lands.
The products lovingly displayed at every stall give off a rich, earthy scent and paint a clear picture of the dedication, passion and toil that goes into producing them every day. This is where you can find the finest fruit and vegetables — and remember that early morning is the best time to buy! Enjoy an experience that goes to the very heart of the rugged land of Trentino. At these farmers’ markets, you can find top-quality organic vegetables like those from Val di Gresta, as well as the unmistakeable aroma of cheeses matured for different lengths of time, still rich with the scent of pastures from the mountain dairies where they were made. Then there are the berries, and honey from local beekeepers, just to make your life a little sweeter.
To improve your holiday experience, we’ve prepared a handy guide for you with the locations and hours of all the main farmers’ markets in Trentino, whether active year-round or just during the mildest and most fertile seasons for vegetable gardens.
