15 experiences not to be missed this summer in Trentino

SUMMER 2022 - Why 15 things to do and not the classic 10? You are probably wondering just that. But, rest assured there is a good reason. We explored mountains, valleys and lakes, looking for ten special experiences for you to enjoy this summer in Trentino, but we found so many that selecting just ten was really impossible!

Trekking, bike excursions, walks... but also paragliding flights, rafting and canoeing adventures: this is to tell you that when you come to visit us, in addition to the things we recommend in this article, there are many others waiting for you. All in pastures, streams and mountains. All under the Trentino sky.

#1

Explore the canyons

On foot, with protective helmet and windbreaker, or by kayak, making your way one paddle after another: exploring a canyon is always an exciting experience. You can try it in Val di Non, in the Novella Canyon or in the Rio Sass Canyon.

#2

Observe nature

Biowatching is more than just observing nature: it means looking at it to understand it… and to be enchanted. On the lakes of Serraia and delle Piazze you can take beautiful walks (for all ages) in the company of a naturalist, to discover animals, plants and the secrets of aquatic life.

#3

Hiking through flowers

Do you know that in Trentino there is a place famous for the incredible richness of its flora and fauna, which make it a treasure trove of biodiversity? We are talking about Monte Baldo, overlooking Vallagarina and Lake Garda. Here blooms at high altitudes (1500-2000 metres) are all at their best in mid-June. Ideal for a nature walk.

#4

Rafting on the Noce River

From relaxing strolls through flowers, to the adrenaline rush that the rapids of the Noce stream, in Val di Sole, can give you. Just think that National Geographic mentions this site as one of the 10 best rivers in the world for rafting! An exciting experience, within everyone’s reach.

#5

On Tibetan bridges

From the thrill of descending on a rubber dinghy, to that of walking suspended into the void, on a Tibetan bridge. In this case too, an adrenaline rush for sure, though in complete safety. In the Primiero and Vanoi Valleys there are 5 of them, with the highest being 32 metres above ground. What do you say? You don’t suffer from vertigo, do you?

From lawn to lunch

After so much adrenaline rush, here is a truly relaxing experience, to be enjoyed at a slow pace. In the company of Noris, the “Lady of the herbs”, you set out along mysterious paths and, along the way, stop to collect wild herbs to be turned into tasty dishes. You can live this experience every Tuesday, from 12 July to 30 August, in Val Rendena.

#8

Yoga among linden trees

Since we are so relaxed, why not keep listening to our body to focus on breathing? In the Pieve di Cavalese Park, in Val di Fiemme, you can practice yoga surrounded by linden trees, in symbiosis with nature, to regenerate body and soul.

By bike for Giro del Vino 50

It’s time to get on the saddle, for a gourmet itinerary. This is Giro del Vino 50, in Piana Rotaliana. A 50-km loop bike trail passing through villages and vineyards and running along waterways, up to mountain slopes. P.S.: as you pedal, don’t forget to make a stop at a cellar.

MTB in the Dolomites

Let’s stay on the bike, this time to admire the Dolomites on two wheels. In Val di Fassa there are many kilometers of trails suitable for MTB: from the most difficult ones, intended for expert and trained cyclists, to trails for all bicyclists. Not to mention all the options for those who prefer to ride an e-bike.

#11

With your gravel bike on dirt roads

Do you have a gravel bike?  Folgaria, Lavarone, Lùsern and the Vigolana plateau are the right places for you! Because Alpe Cimbra is a maze of dirt roads that connect Alpine huts and pastures, lodges in the woods, fields and small villages. And if you have an electric bike, you will find many Bike Points along the routes, for a regenerating break.

Aperitif with a Wow view

Let’s stay in the area, but to Riva del Garda, right on lake shores. From the square of Riva you can take the panoramic lift and reach the ancient Venetian tower and the restaurant bar, to enjoy an aperitif or a dinner with a spectacular view!

#14

A journey to prehistoric times

There is an area in Trentino where time seems to have stopped… at the Bronze Age! We are talking about the village on stilts of Ledro, on the homonymous lake, and the Archaeological Nature Park, in the peat bog of Fiavé. Two faithfully reconstructed prehistoric villages, half an hour’s drive away from each other. The ideal destinations for the little ones... and not only!

A must-see exhibition

From 19 June 2022 and throughout the summer, the historic Palazzo delle Albere in Trento will host the exhibition “Un artista di nome Banksy” (“An artist named Banksy”). It will display more than 100 works by the most famous (and mysterious) contemporary street artist, including some paintings, screen prints, numerous art stencils, some installation objects and memorabilia.
