The Park of Levico Terme
Ideal site for events
The park of Levico, the spa resort, is the biggest historic park in the province of Trento. The park is managed by the autonomous provincial government's Nature Preservation and Environmental Development Office, which organizes a number of educational and recreational events. The park was established in 1898, when Giulio Adriano Pollacseck, the Director of Levico-Vetriolo Heilquellen, bought a green area for the spa establishment. The park's main axis - inaugurated in 1902 - begins at the town's train station, links the spa building with an avenue lined with centuries' old beech trees and ends at the entrance to the green area and the Grand Hotel. The monumental trees we can still admire today such as the gigantic thuja trees were also planted in the same period. Villa Paradiso, built in the Art Nouveau style, was the chief gardener's house.
Set in a climatically favourable area, the park is open the year round and is the spa resort's biggest green lung. It covers an area of over 131,000 square metres and boasts 125 different species of trees and shrubs, some of which are exotic. The numerous events held there, such as the musical matinées in summer and the Christmas market, besides the beautiful blossoms, attracts visitors in all seasons.
