Tips and suggestions
Follow the signs Predaia MTB 1
Roadbook
Starting from Palazzo Nero in Coredo, follow the signs for the “Predaia MTB Number 1” route which initially rises slightly in the “Dossi” area to reach the Tavon playground and then continues to the junction for the Sanctuary of San Romedio. Here the route separates from routes no. 3 and 4 and descends to the bridge over the Rio Verdès. Taking the flat dirt road on the left, you reach in a few minutes the famous Sanctuary of San Romedio, one of the symbols of Val di Non and one of the most characteristic hermitages in Europe with its five small churches perched on the rock. From the Sanctuary, retrace the dirt road back and upon reaching the bridge over the river, continue straight to climb the long Val di Verdès, bypass it and reach the peaceful locality “Sette Larici” on the opposite side. Following again the signs “Predaia MTB Number 1” you now take the road towards Malga di Coredo with a steady climb to the locality “Val de Lama” and then continue on flat terrain to the panoramic Predaia Shelter “Ai Todes Ci”. From here begins a steep paved descent that quickly leads to Rifugio Sores and the adjacent Sores Park, a fun adventure park built on the trees suitable for the whole family. Always following the appropriate signs, continue descending to the locality “Lovere” where the route overlaps for a stretch with the “Predaia MTB number 3” route and descends to the village of Vervò. Here the trail separates and descends to the bottom of a small valley where the climb to the junction for Malga di Vervò begins, reachable after about 50 meters of elevation gain. Proceed on flat terrain then take a steep descent offering panoramic views of Castel Thun, the other cultural symbol of the valley, and leads to its entrance where stopping for a visit is naturally recommended. After leaving the castle, continue descending to the Pongaiola stream where the climb to the village of Vion begins. From Vion, route 1 continues flat to the locality “Tre Confini” where it overlaps again with routes 2 and 3 by taking the final climb on the left that, after passing the fascinating figure of Castel Bragher, returns to the village of Coredo.
