Long loop trail between Regole di Malosco and Mendola Pass with a climb up to Mount Penegal
A pleasant half-day excursion alternating between the regenerative shade of the woods with panoramic points overlooking Val d'Agide and the Dolomites.
This excursion is extremely varied and offers multiple places to stop and have a break: the refuges with typical dishes upon arrival, a sun-kissed malga mountain hut along the way, a panoramic terrace over the Dolomites and the historic Mendola Pass. There are no technical difficulties or any major differences in altitude but you still need to be quite fit to tackle the just under 14 km-long trail.

The route starts at Loc. Regole di Malosco, accessible by car from the villages of Malosco or Ronzone. It is a wide clearing in the forest where 3 huts with excellent typical cuisine are located.
From the parking lot, follow the SAT508 signpost that climbs on a forest road to the sunny Malga di Malosco. The dirt road SAT508 continues and leads up to the summit of Monte Penegal. From the large terrace of the Panorama Hotel Penegal, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Val di Non. Then take the SAT500 trail on the right that descends to Passo Mendola offering other spectacular views of the Dolomites and Lake Caldaro.
From Passo Mendola, continue for a short stretch on the sidewalk on the right edge of the state road descending towards Val di Non, and then go up along the lane leading to the majestic Villa Imperiale. Then follow the SAT 515 signs and cross a green flat forest until you reach the SAT 514 trail and take it on the right to return to Loc. Regole di Malosco.

Along the SS42 state road connecting Val di Non to Passo Mendola you reach Ronzone. After a large hairpin bend, notice on the left a small road entering the forest with signs for Hotel Il Falchetto. Follow the small road to reach a large parking lot near the huts.Parking
