Monte Redival has many advantages to compete for the title of "ideal ski mountaineering outing"... It is sunny, often offers excellent snow due to the high altitude, and the panorama from the summit is very vast. In short, it's worth taking a look. Not to forget that the slopes in the upper part are quite steep, so settled snow and prepared skiers are required!

    Author’s recommendation

Before leaving, always check the conditions with the local Alpine Guides (see "useful links").

    Safety information

Hike to be undertaken only with settled snow and reserved for good skiers due to the significant slopes.

As you can imagine, the accessibility of routes in a mountain environment is closely linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before leaving, check the condition of the route by contacting the refuge managers on your path, alpine guides, nature park visitor centers, and tourist offices.

    Roadbook

Follow the forest road that goes up to Malga Strino and pass it, staying for a first stretch on the right bank of the stream, then cross it and begin to climb the valley aiming to the left of the rocky ridge. Around 2340m you reach a plateau and continue in the direction of the Strino ponds (2610m). From here, turn right under some rocks and climb several ledges up to the base of the summit slope, which is ascended obliquely to the left until the summit.

    Equipment

For winter mountain hikes, appropriate clothing is recommended even in case of sudden temperature drops. Additionally, gloves, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen should be part of the usual equipment. It is also important to have suitable footwear that keeps feet warm and does not get wet in contact with the snow.

For hikes on snowy terrain, it is also advised to always carry an avalanche self-rescue kit, consisting of an ARTVA beeper, shovel, and probe (which can also be rented).
