Tour of the abandoned places of Pinteri, Manfrin and Gerosa
Easy loop walk past the abandoned settlements of Pinteri, Manfrin and Gerosa
An easy walk of about an hour and a half that starts from the village of Cisterna towards the settlements of Pinteri and Gerosa, now abandoned for decades, along an ancient road that connected them with the neighbouring village. The route starts from the old stone millstone at the car park above the village; from there it follows the fields as far as the suggestive stone-vaulted spring of Fontanèi. Continue out of the woods and encounter some open water wells and an ancient calchera. Climbing in a zigzag pattern, the path soon leads to the abandoned district of Pinteri and the nearby district of Manfrin. Continuing on from Pinteri, the road continues with a short but steep climb overlooking the Terragnolo valley, in the midst of a pine forest. After about a quarter of an hour, you cross a path to the left that descends from Monte Finonchio and, after a short downhill stretch, you pass a spring and reach Gerosa, another abandoned settlement with the remains of two houses. Continuing along the level path, we reach Pietra. From here we take the tarmac road downhill that passes through Moietto and leads back to Cisterna.
