A route suitable for everyone that climbs up to the ruins of Castel San Pietro with a very special view of the famous Castel Thun.
The route crosses a beautiful beech forest before entering a narrow canyon just before the final ramp leading to the ruins.

When you reach the canyon the path becomes narrow and in two places it is equipped with a cord to hold on to in case you feel in difficulty.Roadbook
You start on foot from the sports field above the village of Vigo di Ton. You walk along the football field and then follow the signs for Castel San Pietro.
The path crosses a forest, then crosses the Rinassico stream and climbs on an old cart track through a beautiful beech wood.
At the top of the climb the path becomes narrower and enters the canyon carved by the stream. It follows it alongside and then climbs again a beech forest on the right to reach the hill on which the ruins of Castel San Pietro stand.
The return is along the same route as the outward journey.
Directions
Vigo di Ton is reached by taking the state road no. 43 of Val di Non and turning at the junction that shows the directions to the village. From the center, follow the signs for the sports field.Parking
