IT.A.CÀ. - Responsible Tourism Festival

In 2025, IT.A.CA’, the Responsible Tourism Festival, was organised and achieved significant public success. The guiding principles of the initiative were cooperation, hospitality and respect, understood as the core values of responsible tourism. The Festival is structured as a series of travelling initiatives spread across the UNESCO Biosphere territory, with the aim of strengthening its network-based character.

For the 2026 edition, the project is set to expand through the involvement of the municipalities of Riva del Garda and Arco, further reinforcing the territorial network. The central theme of the initiatives will be landscape, explored in its various dimensions: natural, inhabited, sound and inner landscapes. The aim is to promote a culture of landscape capable of engaging both local communities and visitors.

A network of collaborations will be activated with the various stakeholders operating in the area, including tourism promotion bodies, museums, associations, schools, and individual citizens, enhancing a diversity of skills and perspectives. The Festival will be characterised by its ability to connect different territories, creating genuine geographies of encounters.

Special attention will be given to young people and schools through initiatives focusing on soundscapes and inner landscapes, developed through different expressive and artistic languages. Other activities will focus on in-depth cultural exploration of the theme and will involve experts, alongside guided visits to sites of historical and cultural significance.

Nature walks will represent privileged moments of exploration, during which participants, accompanied by experts, will be able to appreciate the valuable environmental features that characterise the different landscapes of the Biosphere. Food will also play a central role within the Festival, as a fundamental expression of local culture conveyed through food and wine offerings.

Finally, the Festival aims to bring to the territories a participatory process shared by local communities and visitors alike, fostering cultural dialogue that is inseparably linked to respect for the environment.
