The Sanctuary of San Romedio is one of the most charming and popular destinations in Trentino. It is famous for the hike in the rocks from Sanzeno to the Sanctuary. To finish off the day, you can continue past the sanctuary and reach the relaxing Lakes Tavon and Coredo.

    Author’s recommendation

The lakes of Coredo are a very relaxing venue, where you’ll find a restaurant which serves local delicacies and a large playground for children and teens.

    Roadbook

This trail begins at the Sanctuary of San Romedio. We would like to remind you that the sanctuary can be reached by car or on some great hikes from various other places in Val di Non.

From the sanctuary, continue climbing gently along the forest road that begins in front of the entrance door to the sanctuary.

A little further ahead, avoid going left along the forest road marked by trail marker 537 which leads into Valle del Verdes. Instead, climb up into the woods towards the lakes (Coredo and Tavon) until you reach a branch (you will notice a wooden bench and a beautiful wooden crucifix) approximately 825m a.s.l.

Here, leave the forest road and turn left, following the signs to Coredo, Lakes Tavon – Coredo. The trail overcomes one last prominence and then reaches a forest road that travels alongside the lakes. You can cover the loop trail of the lakes either clockwise or anti-clockwise according to personal preference.

Then go back to the departure point along the uphill trail.
