Gustavo Vidi Via Ferrata – Brenta Dolomites
Rather than a traditional Via Ferrata, this is actually a partially equipped trail going across the majestic western side of Pietra Grande (2937m/9633ft). The route requires firm feet and a head for heights: long ledge sections are rather exposed and with no protections, you just have to lose your footing or slip to fall a few hundred meters down to the rocks below. Having said that, the Vidi trail presents no remarkable difficulties: the toughest (downhill) section is equipped with steel cable and ladders. Safety equipment, with helmet, harness and karabiners, is mandatory. The route can be travelled in either direction, we propose here the clockwise one. Total length about 10 km/6.21mi (starting from Poza Vecia), drop about 1000m/3280ft.
