Safety information
As you can imagine, the passability of trails in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and depends therefore on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this sheet may have changed. Before setting off, inquire about the trail status by contacting the hut managers on your route, mountain guides, visitor centers of natural parks, and tourist offices.Tips and suggestions

From the parking lot, follow the signs for Malga di Cloz that lead above the tunnel to cross it and reach the dirt road (trail marker 8), which in a few minutes takes you to the sunny Malga di Cloz, recently renovated. From here, start ascending following trail marker 7, which passes by the abandoned Malga Poiol/OberAlm and continues (now trail markers 7/10) over open slopes up to the junction with trail marker 10, which you follow towards the ridge. Crossing beautiful alpine meadows and passing next to a ruin, continue up to the saddle where there is a splendid view over the Val D’Ultimo. The route then continues along the ridge, where careful walking is required, and finally leads to Cima Belmonte/Schöngrub (2461 m).
Returning to the saddle, follow trail marker 22 located on the South Tyrolean side of the mountain, then trail marker 23 which leads to the pleasant Spitzner Alm, where the cheerful atmosphere and tasty dishes will ease your fatigue. From the mountain hut, continue following trail marker 23, first road then path and again road, which on false flat, passing through meadows and larch forests, leads to the Gampenalm. From the hut, following trail marker 24 crossing some streams, you reach the dirt road that crosses the pastures of the Malga Castrin. From here, trail marker 133 first, and then trail marker 8, lead you back to the parking lot at the tunnel in about 15 minutes.
