Moena - San Pellegrino Pass - Valles Pass - Predazzo - Moena
Warm-up lap that, starting from Moena, faces in quick succession San Pellegrino and Valles passes. It retraces the summer version of Alpe Lusia - San Pellegrino ski tour, with suggestive landscapes on the Pale of San Martino, Paneveggio Lake and the hamlet of Bellamonte.
From Moena, begin the first ascent, leading to the panoramic area of the village, with a breath-taking view on Rosengarten and Sassolungo. At the crossroads, turn right and follow the state road 346 (S.S. 346). Pedal easily leaving the valley station of Lusia lift, in the resort of Ronchi, on your left (1,5 km). Proceed alternating short stretches with strong gradients (from 10% to 14%) and long straightaways (only 4 hairpin turns), passing through the resorts of Fango and Alochet. It’s a total of 13 kilometres to climb to San Pellegrino Pass, several times stage or stage finish of Giro d’Italia (2003 with the victory of Gilberto Simoni and 2006 with the Spanish Juan Manuel Gàrate). After leaving the valley station of Col Margherita cable car on your right, begin the fast descent of 6 km ‘till the junction to Valles Pass. Start going up again, following the provincial road 281 (S.P. 281), which in 7 km climbs this Dolomites pass with strong and constant gradients, that give you a break only in the final stretch (average 8,6%, maximum 16,1%). Face the fast and technical descent with gradients ranging from 15% to 3%, once reached the resort of Paneveggio, whose natural park is renowned for its "violin forests". Following the state road 50 (S.S. 50), reach the village of Bellamonte and then Predazzo. Return to Moena along the state road 48 (S.S. 48).
