Walk in the "Bosco che Suona" (The sounding forest)

The discovery of red spruces, which are very famous for violin making.

The "Bosco che Suona" has changed. First by the Vaia storm (2018), then by the typographical bark beetle, an insect that has attacked the fir trees in many areas of Val di Fiemme and throughout the Alps. The diseased plants have completed their life cycle, but the Bosco che Suona continues to live. New seedlings are already growing spontaneously, which, like the mother plants, have music in their blood, in their sap. The emotions of this magical place will live on.

The "pillars" of this temple of open-air music are the spruces, appreciated by Stradivari and other great master luthiers such as Guarneri and Amati. This forest, in summer, welcomes a musical ritual, created by Claudio Delvai. Here, internationally renowned musicians, who participate in the music festival "I Suoni delle Dolomiti", are called to choose a fir tree. It is the gift of the Val di Fiemme to those who spread sublime melodies in the world, with instruments that could have been born in its forests, so welcoming and well-kept thanks to the management of the millennial Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme.
