Trek to Rifugio XII Apostoli
Hike to the hut for a very scenic walk in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites
The XII Apostoli basin is situated at the foot of two small glaciers (Pratofiorito and Agola) in a spot of outstanding natural beauty. Rifugio XII Apostoli is located on a panoramic dolomitic outcrop at the western end of that basin. The view from there is extraordinary: it extends from the Dolomites peaks of Cima XII Apostoli, Pratofiorito and Agola to those of the Presanella massif to the west.
The XII Apostoli basin is the western access to the heart of the Dolomiti di Brenta and is characterized by tranquillity and an absence of crowds. The scenery is magnificent and harmonious, but the access route is rather strenuous, and that’s what keeps the crowds away. The tranquillity one enjoys on the various paths that start from the refuge makes this place even more fascinating.

The hut is the starting point of a labyrinth of paths, all of them extremely interesting: trail 307 for Val Nardis; trail 341 for Val di Sacco; ‘Sentiero Attrezzato dell’Ideale Bocca’ (a fixed-rope trail marked 304); ‘Bocca dei Camosci e d’Ambiez’; ‘Via delle Bocchette’; Ferrata ‘Ettore Castiglioni’ (another fixed-rope trail marked 321) ‘Bocca dei Due Denti’.
