Along the Enantio wine route
Itinerary among the Enantio vineyards that leads to a visit to the frescoed Castle of Sabbionara d'Avio, ancient and evocative Property of the FAI (Fondo per Ambiente Italiano “National Trust of Italy”).

The route crosses the villages of Sabbionara and Avio, passing by its impressive castle, along sections paved with the characteristic ancient pavement.

Enantio, or jagged-leaf Lambrusco, is an indigenous red-berried wine from the lower Vallagarina. Here, near the municipalities of Ala and Avio, the valley narrows on the sides of the Adige river, offering this vine the ideal home. Its grapes give a very full-bodied ruby red wine that reaches its maximum expression if aged in wooden barrels for a few years. It is still grown and bottled today thanks to the work of a small number of passionate winemakers, with great satisfaction for its complex organoleptic tasting framework.
