Castione - Brentonico ring
An excursion through the hidden places of the Brentonico Plateau, to discover the centuries-old chestnut groves and the remains of the Great War.
This walk makes a wide circle starting from Castione up to the village of Brentonico, along the ancient roads connecting the chestnut groves and the other characteristic crops of the plateau. This area, in fact, stands out for the high concentration of majestic chestnut trees, an enchanting landscape that we recommend you admire especially in autumn, when the green of the leaves turns into a golden mantle. Along the way, you will also encounter some remains dating back to the First World War of the Italian stronghold of Monte Giovo, right in front of the corresponding Austro-Hungarian stronghold of Nagià-Grom, in the nearby Val di Gresta.
