Climbs of Giro d’Italia –Fedaia Pass
To enthusiasts, the ascent to Fedaia Pass from Canazei represents the less demanding option compared to the Venetian side, arriving from Malga Ciapela.
From Canazei, follow the state road 641 (S.S. 641), which in 17 km leads to the Dolomites pass (average gradient 4,5%), with a breath-taking view on the Marmolada. After leaving behind the settlement of Penìa, the last of the valley, the real climb begins, with constant gradients that get steeper in the final stretch, touching for a couple of kilometres 11%. Before reaching Fedaia Dam, at an altitude of 2.054 m, you pass through a series of anti-avalanche tunnels, naturally lit except for the last one, lightened up by some streetlights.
Return along the same route or possibility to continue towards Malga Ciapela > Rocca Pietore.
