Brian Eno X Trentino
The Buonconsiglio Castle and Castel Beseno to showcase the installations of the father of ambient music
SUMMER 2022 - One of the greatest modern composers, father of ambient music and icon of international contemporary culture, two wonderful castles, two engaging multimedia installations and eight evenings with spectacular lights, music and sound effects.
We are talking about “Brian Eno X Trentino”, an extraordinary artistic event that will involve the Buonconsiglio Castle, in Trento, from 19 August to 6 November 2022, and Castel Beseno, from 19 August to 10 September 2022.
Brian Eno at the Buonconsiglio Castle, in Trento
Audio Installation for Buonconsiglio is the name of the audio installation that Brian Eno has created for the Trento castle, and that visitors will be able to “hear” from 19 August to 6 November 2022.
It is a site-specific audio installation that consists of works conceived and created on the basis of the spaces that will host them, to create a dynamic flow of sounds.
Installed in key points of the castle and integrated into them, these generative music works will dialogue with the surrounding environments and accompany visitors through a path that, superimposed on the museum exhibition, will offer a unique and unrepeatable synaesthetic listening experience.
Brian Eno a Castel Beseno
From the gardens of the Buonconsiglio Castle to the walls of Castel Beseno, about twenty minutes by car from Trento. Here, from 19 August to 10 September 2022, you can admire the spectacular large-scale audio-visual installation by the British artist: 77 Million Paintings for Beseno.
Conceived as “visual music”, 77 Million Paintings was born of Brian Eno’s constant research on light as an artistic medium and of his desire to explore the new aesthetic possibilities offered by technology.
By overlapping in random order the layers of 400 paintings made by Eno himself, a software generates 77 million combinations without ever repeating themselves. Synchronised with the moving visual work, a unique and unrepeatable sound carpet comes to life, such that no sound will be heard a second time.
77 Million Paintings for Beseno is a spectacular work which, through the projection of a constantly evolving combination of paintings, will create a “painting of light” on the East Walls of Castel Beseno (an area of approximately 1,500 m2 - 100 m x 15 m).
Eight evening events will be held every Friday and Saturday, from 19 August to 10 September 2022, to present the work to the general public. Under the starry sky, the spectators will be able to let themselves get lost among millions of combinations of paintings and music.
