6 easy and panoramic MTB routes for the coming spring

Pull on your windproof jacket and shorts, have a good breakfast and fasten your helmet because today we’ll be taking you to 6 special locations that will allow you to ponder springtime in Trentino from up on high. Castles, forts and observation points: all you need is a mountain bike, a flask of water and a bit of training.

These aren’t difficult itineraries as we are aware that, after a long winter, bikers may be out of shape and need to warm up first, so we’ve chosen 6 tracks that are suitable for everyone and guaranteed to help you get the most from your mountain bike this spring.

A little hard work for a tasty reward

This route may seem a bit difficult at first, but those who make it to the top are in for a tasty reward! You cross the blooming meadows of the Alpe Cimbra, discover old ruins and, if you’re lucky, spot a roe deer, Finally, you arrive at the Malga Ortesino farmhouse where you can stop for a tasty treat.

A short route with a wide panorama

This is the shortest track of those recommended here. It’s a circle route which can be completed in less than an hour and offers a fantastic view across the Adige valley which will make you want to stop and take some pictures. You take off from Fai della Paganella, half an hour from Trento.

A fort with a view!

During World War I there was an impregnable fort that dominated the Valsugana valley. Today, with an hour’s worth of pedalling you can take a break below its walls and enjoy a fantastic view across the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico. Priceless!

Apple orchards and castles

The fourth track will bring you to the Val di Non, for a relaxing ride along country roads and cycleways meandering through farmland, apple orchards and castles. The main stop is Castel Cles where you can take a break and admire the lake of Santa Giustina from above.

On the summit of mount Vignola

This is an extremely easy track and suitable for the entire family. You take off from the Polsa campsite, within the Monte Baldo Park, and pedal your way through blooming meadows and along mountain pathstowards the summit of mount Vignola and a bird’s eye view of the Vallagarina.

Along river Sarca

An easy route in the Sarca River Valley, to be followed by MTB, on bicycle trails and dirt roads. Start your journey from the town of Arco, near Lake Garda, and move through villages and the countryside. The strong point? The historical and natural beauties that you encounter along the way: from the San Paolo hermitage to the Marocche di Dro biotope.
