Several of our mountain huts and restaurants offer menus for the gluten-intolerant

Trentino is not off-limits if you follow a gluten-free diet. Several of our restaurants and mountains huts offer menus designed for celiac disease sufferers, and are certified by the Italy’s celiac disease association – the Associazione Italiana Celiacha (AiC).

 

Amongst the mountain

Amongst the mountain huts certified by the AiC is the Rifugio Roda di Vael, set at 2283m in the middle of the spectacular Catinaccio massif. Meanwhile, in the west, the Rifugio Silvio Agostini also offers gluten-free meals, beneath the sheer cliffs of the Brenta Dolomites.

In the valleys

Meanwhile, in the valleys, AiC-certified restaurants include La Sfizio in Moena, Vidor in Vigo di Fassa, and Sass Maor in San Martino di Castrozza. The Hotel Bellavista in Cavalese also offers its guests gluten-free meals, and regularly trains its staff on the need to cook with simple, ingredients such as fresh meat, rice and potatoes.
