If you want to spend a night in the mountains without sacrificing comfort, this is the refuge for you: the wardens have installed a Finnish sauna out on the terrace with its wonderful views. In winter skiers can clip on their skis right outside the door and make their way directly to the Sella Ronda via Val Jumela and Ciampac. In summer ther're lots of excursions.

Walks
The walk to Conca del Ciampac via Valle Jumela and Sella Brunec takes 2 ½ hours (difficulty EE). The Rifugio Passo San Nicolò can be reached from Sella Brunec following the Lino Pederiva protected path (it has a short, easy stretch with metal cable). Near the Baita Cuz is the end of the (difficult) “I magnifici 4” via ferrata, dedicated to the mountain rescue volunteers swept away by an avalanche in December 2009 during a rescue attempt (4 hours, difficulty EEA TD - very difficult).

Arrival
From Pozza di Fassa take the Buffaure cable car then a 20 minute walk; or about 2 hours on foot from the village. In winter, the refuge can be reached only on skis from the Col de Valvacin piste in the Buffaure ski area.
