This refuge was for a long time the home of Bruno Detassis, custodian of the Brenta, famous Trentino mountaineer and great humanitarian, who opened hundreds of routes and also contributed to the construction of the Via delle Bocchette. In the middle of the upper Val Brenta, the refuge is on the natural route across this dolomitic group. Inside, black and white photos hanging on the wooden walls tell the story of these places, while outside, a little higher up, a little stone church commemorates those who lost their lives in the mountains. Easily reached by families, the refuge is one of the most famous, popular and well-loved in the entire dolomitic Group.

Walks
The walk up to Bocca di Brenta takes 1 ½ hours and does not present any particular difficulties (difficulty EE). From here it’s a short walk to the Tosa and T. Pedrotti refuges, or you can embark on the Via delle Bocchette, a via ferrata that traverses the entire Brenta Group to Passo Grostè. The walk up to the Rifugio Alimonta takes 1 ½ hours without particular difficulty; much more challenging is the route to the Rifugio Dodici Apostoli “Fratelli Garbari” on the Martinazzi protected path (3 hours - EEA). To get to the Rifugio F.F. Tuckett e Q. Sella take the Bogani path via the Sella del Fridolin, with a stretch through the distinctive “tunnel” cut into the rock (1 ½ hours, difficulty EE).
