Museo Etnografico del Nonno Gustavo
An ancient hayloft featuring more than 300 years of valley history.
The Grand-father Gustavo Ethnographic Museum is housed in an ancient tabià (hayloft) in Bellamonte, located behind Hotel Stella Alpina. It is a museum collecting ancient toys, objects and tools of farmers. The lively collection of Mr Rinaldo allows to explore once again the magic world of our grand-parents. The museum features more than 1.800 pieces, which illustrate more than 300 years of the valley history; they include tools used by woodcutters, farmers, reapers, cheese-makers, blacksmiths, shoe-makers, carpenters, coopers and carters, in addition to some of the most popular kitchen tools of the past and the barèla del moléta, the grinding wheel used by knife-grinders.
