Palazzo del Dazio or delle Miniere

A museum that compares peasant life and crafts with the adventurous life of a rich and cultured man like Alois Negrelli, who helped design the Suez Canal.

There are rooms dedicated to blacksmiths, carpenters and saddlers, and the areas dedicated to spinning, haymaking, cultivation and dairy activities.  At Palazzo del Dazio or delle Miniere, the space dedicated to artisanal activities is particularly rich and worth a visit.  The other exhibits are also worth seeing because they concern mining and the work of the engineer Alois Negrelli.  Born in Fiera di Primiero, he engineered many railways, but above all provided the principal ideas for the Suez Canal project.  This imposing building, once the seat of the "mining judge", now houses an ethnographic museum.  Recently renovated, entrance is free.  Guided tours by appointment.
