Lago d'Ampola
Lake Ampola is one of the few lakes to have kept its pristine status.
Surrounded by the area's characteristic vegetation, the lake is extremely interesting from a naturalistic point of view. The lake is rounded by vegetation, including wet prairies, hay meadows and wooded areas.
The Lake is the perfect environment for aquatic birds, reptiles and amphibians, since human settlement has been kept to a minimum. A walkway has been set up for visitors, allowing them to enjoy the landscape while walking above the sledge fields, admire the blooming orchids, appreciate the numerous mini-biotopes or follow a botanic trail. The Visitor Information Centre - with its guided trails and multimedia contents - provides visitors with information on the history of the lake and its biodiversity.
