Lez di Rumo

A long gentle path that overlooks the village of Rumo offering beautiful glimpses of Val Lavazzè.

Lez di Rumo is much longer than the other paths through the valley along the irrigation channels. So, you can choose to just follow part of it or to combine it with another trail to make a loop. For example, it may be interesting the combine the path of the mines between Marcena and Corte Inferiore or join the special path of the statues in the final part of the irrigation channel.

The Lez di Rumo is much longer than the other routes in the valley along the irrigation canals. For this reason, you can choose to do only a section and perhaps combine it with another path to make a loop. For example, it is interesting to combine it with the mining trail between Marcena and Corte Inferiore or connect to the special statues trail at the end of the Lez.

Safety information

There are no particular critical points along this route. The signage is sparse in some places but it is sufficient to always go straight ahead avoiding any forks.

Roadbook

The Lez di Rumo starts along the paved road that from Corte Inferiore goes up towards Proves. Just before a hairpin turn on the right is a large picnic area with a fire pit. Across the road is the clear path that enters the flat forest. The first section winds tightly through the forest with views over the hamlet of Corte Inferiore and the distinctive church of San Udalrico. The route then becomes wider with new fences separating the path from the irrigation canal. Enjoy views of the steep Val Lavazzè where the homonymous mountain hut can be seen rising. The Lez passes above the settlement of Lanza and then enters a dense forest towards the iron-rich spring. Near the spring and the related wooden fountain begins the statues trail, a downhill path of about 400 meters where wooden statues placed by local sculptors are found. At the end of this short trail, you ascend the forestry road on the left until you meet the Lez on the right and thus return to the starting point.

Directions

Rumo is a small village made up of several hamlets in the northwesternmost part of the Val di Non. To reach it, take the road from Revò heading towards Proves and the Val d'Ultimo. At Loc. Frari follow the signs that turn left and lead to Rumo in a few kilometers. Once you reach the first houses, turn right to go up towards Corte Inferiore and continue along the uphill paved road that goes towards Proves. Just before a large curve on the right is a large picnic area with a shelter and fire pits.
