Passeggiata panoramica di Smarano
Il Sentiero Panoramico corrisponde all’itinerario n. 12 dei Percorsi d’Anaunia denominato anche “Crosare”. Semplice e adatto a tutti, guida alla scoperta di un’ incantevole vista sui laghetti, il Brenta ed il Santuario di S. Romedio da una prospettiva del tutto inusuale.
Percorso semplice ad anello, semi-pianeggiante, che conduce attraverso il bosco alla visione dall’alto dei Due Laghetti di Coredo e Tavon e dell’incantevole Santuario di San Romedio.

The Merlonga walk is a nice, comfortable, and flat path. It starts in Smarano, in the locality of Merlonga, and skirts the woods above the lakes of Coredo and Tavon.
The Merlonga walk is a route to do in Predaia: it is enjoyable because it has no climbs and many panoramic points over the lakes and the Sanctuary of San Romedio.
Simple loop route, semi-flat, leading through the woods to the view from above of the Two Lakes of Coredo and Tavon and the enchanting Sanctuary of San Romedio.
Author’s recommendation
In the locality “Doss en Ciaura,” the fire points, the wooden cabin equipped with kitchen and bathrooms (available upon request to the Smarano ASUC), nearby playgrounds for children, and the large sports field make this area ideal for those wishing to spend a whole day in nature.

Roadbook
The walk starts in Loc. Merlonga, above the restaurant-pizzeria “I Tre Briganti” and follows a semi-flat path through the woods, where recurring signposts showing the number 12, relating to the “16 Percorsi d’Anaunia”, mark the way.
At one point, a panoramic terrace overlooks the Two Lakes of Coredo and Tavon and the majestic Brenta Group. A little further on, another panoramic terrace offers views of the evocative Sanctuary of San Romedio nestled in the eponymous valley, the Maddalene Range, Mount Ozol, and part of the Upper Val di Non.
Continuing, the path climbs slightly before leveling off and crossing a pine and fir forest where you find the sign “4 Passi en tel bosc,” a short detour along a slightly wider stretch before reconnecting with the Panoramic Path. Staying along route no. 12, you reach a clearing characterized by a shrine and a cabin with a canopy. You pass through the Busa del Lièver, which has a small but pleasant playground, and finally reach Loc. Dos en Ciaura, where there is an old football field and a lovely equipped picnic area with tables, benches, fire points, and a small house with a kitchen available upon request from the Smarano ASUC.
Just below the village of Smarano at the fire station, following the right sign leads you back to the starting point.

Directions
From the Brenner motorway A22 take the Trento Nord exit and continue towards the Val di Non on SP235 and then SS43. At Dermulo, follow signs for Fondo-Bolzano-Passo Mendola along SS43 Dir and after a few hundred meters turn right towards Predaia - Smarano along SP7.
Arriving in Smarano, in front of the Macelleria Fratelli Corrà turn left following signs for Loc. Merlonga.
