Along the Merlot wine route
The itinerary winds through the ancient villages of the Destra Adige through the countryside renowned for its Merlot grapes.
Coming from the north, the path passes by the villages of Nomi, Pomarolo, Piazzo, Villa Lagarina, Nogaredo, Brancolino, Marano and Isera until the Info & bike tourist point of Borgo Sacco, along the country roads of the valley.
Merlot is an international grape variety of French origin. In Trentino it is generally grown on the valley floor, where the soil has a conformation that favors its growth. Here in Vallagarina it is on the right side of the Adige, especially between the municipalities of Aldeno and Isera. A structured, fruity and elegant wine with an intense red color is created from the grapes, which is well suited for the aging of barrels due to its durability over time. A wine that is recognizable at first sight and in which the characteristics of the territory and the grapes are enhanced.
