Cavedine Archaeological Route
The Cavedine historical archaeological route is accessible via a pleasant dirt path that accompanies the visitor as they discover the local sites of archaeological importance with points of historical, cultural, archaeological and naturalistic interest.
Among the archaeological artefacts present in the Valley, the Cavedine archaeological trail is of particular interest. The Cavedine Valley is a hanging terrace on the left of the orographical basin of the Sarca River that has been inhabited since the Neolithic era (fourth millennium BC) due to excellent climate conditions for settlement and the fact that it was one of the main routes between Lake Garda and the Adige Valley. During the Roman era the valley, along with the Giudicarie Valley and the Lake Garda area, belonged to Brescia rather than the Municipium Tridentinum, and this remained unchanged until the Medieval period.
