DBT Stage 4: Rifugio Tuckett - Rifugio ai Brentei

Fourth stage of the "Dolomiti di Brenta Trek" route, from Rifugio Tuckett to Rifugio ai Brentei.

Rifugio Maria e Alberto ai Brentei (2182 m), managed by the CAI of Monza, stands in a wide grassy space in the central part of Brenta and is in a strategic position for the classic vie ferrate of the Group. The grandeur of the environment surrounding the refuge is incomparable: the vertical walls of the Punte di Campiglio and Cima Mandron rise from the grassy expanse and behind is the frozen wall of Canalone Neri that joins Crozzon di Brenta to Cima Tosa.

For decades, after 1949, the refuge was managed by the great Trentino alpinist Bruno Detassis (1910–2008). This mountain guide and climber was very generous in giving advice and help to generations of alpinists who passed this refuge. Following the motto “seeking the easy in the difficult” he was the first to scale some of the most beautiful and difficult climbs in the Dolomites, such as the “Via delle Guide” on Crozzon di Brenta.
