Hike to Rifugio Micheluzzi

After the Micheluzzi Refuge, the path unwinds gently across the green meadows of Val Duron. Passing close to Baita Lino Brach Refuge, keep on walking on a dirt road at the feet of Catinaccio to the south and Sassopiatto to the north.

From Piaz de Ciampedel walk up Strèda de Ruf and Strèda de Salin. Reach the outskirts of the village walking along the brook "Ruf Duron". Once you cross the bridge, the path becomes immediately very steep. Keep the right of the forest road, which is closed to the traffic, and face the hard 50 m uphill stretch (average gradient of 24%). After this first part, the road ascends continuously but more gently until Micheluzzi Refuge. In order to (at least partially) avoid the dust clouds caused by the shuttle in service during the summer, once you reach the restaurant Baita Fraines in the area of "Pozates", leave the forest road and take the path on the left leading in a thick fir wood, which is very steep in some parts. You will reach a clearing equipped with picnic benches and tables. Cross the brook and join the road ascending from Campitello, just below Micheluzzi Refuge.
