Vallarsa

Vallarsa is the Leno valley that joins Rovereto to the province of Vicenza and that - despite the name (‘vallarsa' means ‘arid valley') - is a valley featuring abundant rainfalls. Indeed, it is green and rough, genuine and beautiful, with a special vocation for stockbreeding and for tourism too. Rovereto is just 15-20 kilometres away.
The tormented and impressive morphology of the lower section of the valley (where the S. Colombano hermitage stands) contrasts with the wide terracing of the upper area.
The upper valley is crowned by a group of Dolomia peaks called Piccole Dolomiti (small Dolomites) to the left, while on the other side there is Mount Pasubio with Pian delle Fugazze in between.
The area holds many caves and karstic hollows, especially in the Camposilvano location.
Quite interesting to visit are the exhibits pertaining to the Great War and to the Farmers' Civilization in the dedicated Museum in the hamlet of Riva.
The valley offers various sports activities, including excursions and trekking on the Path of Peace, on the Piccole Dolomiti and on the pastures of the Pasubio.
