Moena - Alpe Lusia - Sas da Mesodì

Easy loop tour to the "Sas da Mesodì", a little-visited peak with a splendid panorama of the Val di Fassa. 

From Moena reach the “Ronchi” area ("I Ronc") and take "Lusia" gondolas. Then take path no. 614, approximately following the ski slope; descending along a steep path, reach the basin at the foot of mount "Viezzena". Shortly after the junction to path no. 622, the route heads west and reaches "Sforcela de Pozil", at 2,151 m. To carry on to the top of "Sas da Mesodì", you need to go slightly downhill, then turn right along a path which, through grassy slopes, climbs up to the crest which joins "Col de Poza" to "Sas da Mesodì". The actual peak is at 2,299 m and can be reached by following the path. For the best view of Moena and the lower part of Val di Fassa, you should go down a few meters to reach mountain’s ridge. To get back to "Valbona", follow "Troi dei Soldai" (Soldier’s Path), which descends steeply eastwards and, following its wide turns, exit the wood close to the gondola’s middle station.
