The little Cornisello lakes at the foot of Monte Giner look like turquoise gems among the stones. The Rifugio Cornisello, near the lower lake, has been run for almost fifty years by the Salvaterra- Bonapace family. Here, the waters flowing down from the high peaks of the Presanella Group collect in a glacial basin, and the walk around the mountain lakes is within the reach of walkers of all abilities, even families with children. You can also fish for trout in the little Cornisello lakes; permits are available from the refuge. Open From 20 June to 20 September Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks The easy walk to the Rifugio Val d'Amola “Giovanni Segantini” via Lago Nero takes 1 ½ hours (difficulty E). From the Rifugio Cornisello it’s a short walk along the road to the upper Cornisello lake and from there you can continue to Lago Vedretta (2 hours, difficulty E). From the upper Cornisello lake take the wide valley on the right to walk up to Pian delle Marmotte and Lago Scarpacò (1 hour, difficulty E).
