Stage 3A Dolomiti Trek King - Viel dal Pan

In front of the Marmolada E. Castiglioni Refuge, take the trail no. 601 which, on a long traverse through breathtaking scenery, at a constant altitude of about 2,400 metres, leads to the Pordoi Pass. This section of the itinerary is called "Viel dal Pan", as it was once the preferred route of the itinerant vendors from Val di Fassa to the Livinallongo hollow. Once reached the Pordoi Pass, it is worthy to take the cable car to Sass Pordoi, the Terrace of the Dolomites. After returning to the Pordoi Pass by cable car, follow the forest track that leads to "Pecol" (otherwise, from the Pordoi Pass go up the grassy saddle to the Fredarola Refuge, continue on the plain towards the Belvedere Refuge and slightly uphill you will reach the top station of the cable car that goes down to "Pecol"). Go back to Canazei by cabin lift. From Canazei, the walk along the river "Avisio" leads to the locality "Ischia" in Campitello, where you will find the valley station of the cable car that goes up to "Col Rodella" in just a few minutes. From "Col Rodella", walk down along path no. 529 and then take paths no. 557 and 557-4, also known as "Friedrich August Weg". The trail,  following an easy, relatively even path, leads to Sandro Pertini Refuge.
