Its high surrounding walls, which protect its entire perimeter, at first seem to clash with the non-strategic position in which it rises, surrounded by a wood of conifers. A double wall protects the castle, the higher of which was progressively raised starting from the fifteenth century, as the entire manor house became more important. The 16th-17th century central palazzo is linked to the powerful keep, which can be reached via a sixteenth century spiral staircase and from the top of which five large windows open out, offering a splendid view over the entire lower valley.

It is owned by the Municipality of Campodenno that is taking care of the important restoration works, after which the castle will be opened to the public.
