Chiesa dell'Inviolata
The Church of the Inviolata is the most important Baroque church in Trentino.
The church of the Inviolata in Riva del Garda was built in 1603 and consecrated thirty years later as a place of pilgrimage thanks of its tabernacle, which was considered to be miraculous. The church was built in the Baroque style and features a square-shaped plant from the outside. Indoor, it does boast an octagonal plant featuring five altars, three doors, a vault with frescoes and stuccos, as well as carved wood confessional and marble floors.
The painting located behind the main altar safeguards the image of the miraculous Virgin. The choir showcases pictures and frescos from the School of Domenico Brusasorci and elegant seats carved with Bible scenes. The altarpieces are by Palma the Younger, while the oil paintings are by Pietro Ricchi - known as the Lucchese - and those on the cupola have been attributed to Teofilo Polacco. The white, black and gold stuccos are by Davide Reti (1609), whose signature can be seen on the right when entering the church from the main door.
The church can be visited all year round.
