1802. Monte Casale
Though not so renowned yet, Mount Casale likely is the mountain offering the best north-to-south view of Garda Lake as well as a breathtaking panorama of Valle dei Laghi, Brenta Dolomites and of the Adamello glacier westward. An authentic panoramic thrill!
This is one of the few mountains of the Alps that bikers can ride till its top. The vertical drop from Comano to the top of Mount Casale is a little less than 1200 meters. Any rider using an electric MTB can comfortably reach it by using just one battery. The EMTB - electric mountainbike is the choice that fits this tour best, considering that, though the dirt road departing from Comano is initially characterized by a slight slope, its stone-paved final stretch is so steep that the few local bikers who dare to ascend it only by the force of their own muscles use to define it as a „sentence of doom“. By riding an EMTB a biker can instead comfortably keep pedaling and, in the meantime, enjoy the road uphill.
Right before reaching the big meadow at the mountain top, the so-called "Capanna Don Zio" can be found. Shortly after this mountain shelter, a turn to the right takes - along slightly visible tracks - to the above-said meadow and then till the top, where some benches and a big table invite to have a break and enjoy an uncomparable 360°-view.

The tour continues southbound through a meadow, takes to a cross situated a little further down and then leads back to "Capanna Don Zio". Instead of riding on the outward road, bikers may take an easy trail departing from below the above-said mountain shelter and return by riding on route 411 till reaching a place called "Le Quadre". Here is where fun really begins: almost 10 Kilometers - more than 40% of the entire tour - of rather smooth downhill road waiting for riders to merrily enjoy it.

Once reached a place called "Duson", the downhill road takes a turn to the right and, shortly after, it goes uphill again. Those who prefer to avoid riding uphill can simply proceed straight ahead on the trail, that now runs along the edge of a precipice: the sign „Bici a mano“ kindly invites them to carry their bicycle by hand along this stretch. The following stony stretch through the forest is rather technical, but, anyway, it generally allows riders to keep pedaling till Malga Valbona.

Shortly after this mountain hut, a short stretch of dirt road takes to the so-called "Sentiero dei Russi", that is the trail of Russians (name due to the fact that the trail was built by Russian prisoners during World War I); a long descent - all in all a smooth one - leads back to Comano. This tour is what pure joy looks like!
