Museo Mulino della “Meneghina”
In Capriana, in a suggestive and isolated place, is located the old mill where Maria Domenica Lazzeri, «l’Addolorata di Capriana» (1815-1848), lived and died.
The building was completely renovated by the municipality of Capriana, replacing the mill machineries with reconstructed pieces made by an expert craftsman of the valley.
The visit to this place has therefore a double value: from one side, the renovation of a little local mill, from the other side an interesting collection of relics from the popular worship of the sad and
mysterious story of Maria Domenica Lazzeri, called Meneghina, the young mystic who became a miracle case known all-around Europe because of her sufferings and exemplar devotion.
