Riserva guidata Campobrun

The Campobrun guided nature reserve is located in the municipal area of Ala, in southern Trentino, on the border of the provinces of Vicenza and Verona. It was established in 1971 and extends over 429 hectares. The area is still difficult to access on the Trentino side since the ground is quite rough and wild, yet extremely picturesque too. The climatic conditions are also unique: Piccole Dolomiti Mountains act as a barrier to poor weather conditions. For this reason the reserve is a sort of amphitheatre protected by Obante and Pilsche peaks, and by Carega chain in the heart of Prealpe and Mount Lessini chain. Although the vegetation is rich and flourishing, it only goes up to 1,600 m a.s.l. In this area the vegetation includes typical Alpine area plants, and the classical plants to be found at lower altitudes.
