Faver
A typical town of the Cembra area, Faver manufactures high-quality Trentino schnapps
Faver is a pictoresque town with a mild climate located at the foot of Monte Avvoltoio. Its urban layout and architectural style are typical of the Cembra area, with vine-planted terraces and rows of houses stretched along a valley sloping down towards the River Avisio.
The Earth pyramids, the castle and the hamlet of Segonzano can be admired on the opposite bank.
Faver is located on the Via del Dürer which takes travellers along the Val di Cembra valley, on the footsteps of the famous German Renaissance painter.
Traditional alleyways - known as "frone" - branch off the main road and wind their way amongst stone buildings with their wooden overstructures and courtyards. These are either named after groups of families which used to live in them, or take their name from the town's urban features. Faver is traditionally divided into two districts - Cort and Vich - each featuring its own fountain and piazza.
The town is also renowned for its wine growing and wine making, and is home to numerous, high-quality schnapp distilleries.
