Terre d'Adige Zambana
The town of the white asparagus
Zambana was first established as a point of transit along the River Adige. In fact, up until 1850 - and therefore before the advent of the rail road - the river played a key role in the Trentino economy. The old town was invested and destroyed by a landslide in 1955, after being liberated from its swaps when the course of the River Noce was changed.
Zambana was later transferred to the centre of the Valle dell'Adige. This recently constructed town can be defined as agricultural and is renowned for its apples, pears and grapes as well as for the supreme quality of its white asparagus. Festivals, in addition to simple, delightful dishes have been dedicated to this precious vegetable here.
