Pozza di Fassa is set in the heart of Val di Fassa, in the most famous mountain landscape of the Dolomites
The Buffaure ski area - linked to the Ciampac ski area - offers 17 km of downhill ski-runs serviced by artificial snow system to meet all-level skiers' skills, from beginners' to experts'.
The fast state-of-the-art uphill facilities include 4 chairlifts, 2 ski lifts and a cable car.
The ski area can be reached from Pozza in the heart of Val di Fassa. You take the cable car in Buffaure and already after a few minutes you are faced with staggering and unforgettable views of the Catinaccio, Latemar and Sassolungo all the way up to Marmolada. Enchanted mountains that have inspired legends of kings, queens and fairies. The renovated ski carousel is very popular for the variety of its slopes, including the black "Volcano" and the "Panoramica", two slopes of varying difficulty that start off at the 2,050 metres of Buffaure and descend to the valley. The connection to Ciampac (Skitour Panorama) offers several kilometres of perfectly snow-capped slopes to ski enthusiasts and the possibility to comfortably reach the Belvedere skiarea in Canazei and the Sellaronda Skitour, thanks to the new ski lift Alba-Col dei Rossi. Buffaure is sure not to let down even snowboarders and freestylers, who can enjoy the new park with top-notch jumps and acrobatic structures designed especially for them.
For professional sports activities there is the Ski Stadium Val di Fassa, with its state-of-the-art facilities, which are also floodlit at night (Wednesday and Friday from 7.30 to 10 pm).
The meeting point for children is in "Fraine" in the town of Pera, where there are a nice ski school and a fully equipped playground in the snow. To fans of cross-country skiing, besides offering them access to the ski resort of Marcialonga di Fassa and Fiemme, Pozza also offers the nice option of skiing on the "Ciancoal" ring, which is lots of fun because of the continuous changes in pace.
And what is there to do after skiing? This area offers countless opportunities: snowshoeing and tobogganing by moonlight in Val San Nicolò or Val Monzoni, an outdoor skating rink, relax at the Terme Dolomia spa, a visit to the detached section of the Ladin Museum of Fassa, and the mill and cheese factory in Pera.
